2019 wing/forward Carrington McCaskill appears to have taken a big jump in his development. Hit the jump for fresh highlights of the athletic 6’7 junior out of Detroit Renaissance High School at the Horatio Williams Tipoff Classic.
Carrington looked superb playing as a true wing for large portions of the game against Flint Carman Ainsworth. He knocked down two corner triples on baseline out of bounds sets and added a midrange twenty foot jumper off a downscreen. McCaskill’s shot was very smooth, with good arch and a high release point that makes it nearly impossible to alter. On the block, Carrington displayed very good footwork as a face up post prospect as he drove left before getting into a quick spin move to get his defender off balance before finishing with soft touch. The athletic junior brought his usual workman like mentality on the glass, where he had several offensive rebounds before finishing putbacks. Always a terror in transition, McCaskill ran the floor extremely well, forcing the opposition to foul before converting at the charity stripe. We’ve been projecting Carrington as a high-major prospect for quite some time now, and Saturday afternoon at Cass Tech was simply further confirmation of that. See below for highlights.
