St. Augustine wing Chibuzo Agbo is an underclassmen that could be headed for a big year in 2017/2018. Hit the jump for a breakdown of his game and an early look inside his recruitment.
The sophomore had an eye-opening Summer on the AAU circuit with San Diego Select where he enjoyed being a focal point of the team in different spots on the court.
“I felt I played well and just enjoyed playing positions I don’t usually get to play, and learning what it’s like to be a key guy for a team.”
An athletic and physically imposing prospect at a legit 6’6 with a great frame, Chibuzo is at his best when heading downhill and attacking the rim.

“I think my biggest strength would be getting in the paint so I can pass or shoot.”
While Agbo isn’t a big name on the national scene just yet, his recruitment is picking up steam as a local program has offered and high-major interest is starting to come in.
“I have a UC Irvine offer. San Diego State is showing interest and I’ve received letters from Virginia, UCSB and Harvard.”
Still in the very early stages of his recruitment, Chibuzo is focused on extending his range beyond the arch and continuing to develop the mental aspect of his floor game.
“I’m working on shooting from behind the three point line, shot selection and basketball IQ in general.”
With a college ready frame and natural explosiveness, Agbo has the physical tools to be a wing/forward with the versatility to play multiple spots on the floor with continued development of his skillset. If he can make his jumpshot a bit more consistent, he has the look of a high major prospect moving forward.
