2019 forward Dana Tate has been one of the more impressive underclassmen on the 17u EYBL Circuit. Hit the jump for fresh film of the versatile forward over Memorial Day weekend in Los Angeles.

Dana was outstanding against crosstown rival BABC on Day 1, putting up a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. We really liked Tate’s grab and go ability, as he thrived at pulling down a defensive board then pushing the ball in transition to get himself a basket or set up teammates for easy looks. Dana is a fluid ballhandler for a prospect of his size and can change directions with the ball if the defense cuts off his path to the basket. While his handle is certainly a plus at the forward spot, his vision was absolutely superb. Tate consistently found teammates with accurate passes off the dribble that resulted in buckets in both the half-court and transition. Dana is the prototype combo-forward in modern basketball. He’s skilled enough to play the 3, while having the size, strength and motor to defend the paint and rebound. We certainly expect Tate to be one of the more coveted forward prospects in the country next year. See below for highlights.
