Gerald Liddell put on an impressive display of athleticism and skill over the weekend during EYBL session 2 in Indianapolis. The 6’7 wing solidified himself as one of the country’s best players against the top competition in the world.
Liddell displayed his elite athleticism as usual, with several highlight-reel finishes at the basket. His back to the basket game was impressive as well, with fluid footwork and a nice jumphook over the left shoulder with soft touch. Gerald was also able to create his own offense off the dribble in both the half-court and transition where he used his speed and quickness to create separation to get easy looks at the rim. What sometimes gets lost about Liddell’s game is his effort level. With all the skill and natural athletic ability that he possesses, his motor is always going full tilt. He consistently ran the floor hard and crashed the glass all weekend, never backing away from doing the little things that make a difference. It is easy to see why Gerald is such a touted prospect, his combination of size, length, athleticism, skill and motor makes him a likely candidate to be a great two-way player at the next level.
