One of the breakout performers of the spring, Midlothian (TX) wing Kaden Archie has seen his stock skyrocket over the past month. The 6’6 guard has transformed from an athletic wing with tons of potential to a highly productive prospect that is a hot commodity to high major programs across the country.
Archie is an explosive 6’6 wing that can create his own shot off the dribble with a greatly improved jumpshot.
“Over the past year I’ve really improved my jumpshot off the catch and the dribble and just my IQ for the game and my handles,” said Kaden.
That skill development has really paid dividends this Spring. Kaden is off to a sizzling start on the Adidas circuit with Urban DFW where he’s averaging 16.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game while shooting 45% from the field.
“I definitely feel like I’ve been making an impact to help my team win and I feel like I’ve been playing really well but there is still a lot I have to improve on.”
Archie’s superb play this Spring has translated to the recruiting world, where he’s in the midst of the proverbial blow-up.
“During the last week I’ve received offers from Purdue, Florida, Wichita State, SMU, and Texas,” Archie told Endless Motor Sports.
In addition to the aforementioned programs, Kaden also holds offers from LSU, Boise State, Tulsa, Stephen F. Austin, UIW, and Texas-San Antonio with Louisville, Missouri, and Virginia all showing interest per Kaden.
“All of the schools have really been doing a great job recruiting me and staying in contact with my family and I.”
With the offers literally pouring in by the day at this point, Archie has no leaders in his recruitment and informed Endless Motor Sports that he does not have a timeline for his decision at this point.
While Kaden is enjoying the payoff from the work he’s put on his game over the last year, he aspires to achieve more.
“I want to win some games this Summer, make South Carolina (Adidas Gauntlet Finals) and hopefully continue to keep my stock going up and get recognized on a national scale.”
Kaden is one of the best available wings on the market for 2018, and he’s going to shoot up the national rankings come June. He has a college ready frame right now, great athleticism and the ability to score at all three levels. His improved skillset makes him a great fit for nearly any program in the country, and he has tremendous potential as an upper tier two-way player at the next level.
