2018 wing Gabe Brown had a breakout weekend during the first session of EYBL. The talented 6’8 junior displayed a versatile skillset that had coaches and scouts taking notice all weekend long.
Brown turned heads in his EYBL debut at the Boo Williams Sportsplex with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks against Meanstreets. Gabe showed impressive shooting ability by knocking down three catch and shoot triples with good form. He was able to show his tremendous athleticism on a baseline drive where he finished with good verticality on a two hand dunk. While his offense gets the majority of the praise, his length and lateral agility was equally impressive on defense. Gabe was able to block top 100 wing Tim Finke’s shot on two occasions with hard closeouts. While Brown may not have been a huge name on the national scene prior to this weekend, it is near certain that he will be on the radar of college programs across the country moving forward. His unique blend of size, shooting and athleticism is a rare combination indeed. See below for highlights.
