Anthony Nelson had a breakout weekend during the first session of EYBL. The talented 6’4 guard displayed a versatile skillset that had coaches and scouts taking notice all weekend long.

Nelson turned heads in his EYBL debut at the Boo Williams Sportsplex with 18 points and 6 rebounds against All Ohio. Against The Family on Saturday morning, Anthony displayed an impressive stroke from both distance and midrange. He knocked down 2 catch and shoot triples from the wing and buried a midrange pullup off the dribble. All weekend long Nelson was able to get penetration and get to the rim in both the halfcourt and transition. His body control is excellent, as he routinely got into the chest of the opposition before finishing through contact. When he didn’t finish, he forced the defense to foul, as he buried 16/22 free throws through 4 games. For the weekend Nelson averaged 14.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting better than 47% from the field. While Nelson may not have been a huge name on the national scene prior to this weekend, it is near certain that he will be on the radar of college programs across the country moving forward.
