2018 Ohio State commit Justin Ahrens was the best scorer in the gym during opening weekend of the AAU season at the Michigan Invitational. Buckeye fans should be really excited about the sharpshooter out of Versailles, Ohio.
Justin set the tone during C2K’s first game of pool play, knocking down 4 triples on his way to 18 points in a convincing victory. In the semifinals of bracket play Justin came off down screens to loosen up a tight defense against a talented Elite team. Not just a shooter, Ahrens really excelled finishing at the rim with his off hand in both transition and half court settings. While Justin is known for knocking down perimeter shots with NBA range, he has some ability to create his own shot as well. He was impressive on a few occasions in isolation situations, as he was able to create space with good footwork and ballhandling on the perimeter before pulling up for midrange jumpers or getting fouled.
