2018 Ohio State commit Darius Bazley had a great performance during opening weekend of the AAU season at the Michigan Invitational. ESPN’s #47 player in the country played all 5 positions and displayed the type of skillset and athletic ability that should have Buckeye fans very excited.
At 6’8, Darius displayed elite change of direction and speed when handling the ball. He was consistently able to create space off the dribble and get to the rim and finish or raise up for midrange jumpshots. Not just a scorer, Bazley’s court vision is absolutely superb in both the half court and transition. He hit teammates with precision passes in transition and displayed great touch when feeding the post in the half court. On the defensive end his length is an absolute game-changer, as Darius blocked shots at an extremely high level without fouling. His 16 point, 14 rebound, 5 block, 5 assist game in the semi-final victory against a very talented squad in The Elite was reminiscent of a young Lamar Odom. See below for highlights.
