2017 Oakland University commit James Beck had a great performance against Kalamazoo Central.  The 6’8 wing finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds while displaying the skill set and athleticism that has Grizzly fans buzzing.

James did all of his damage in the paint and the free throw line on this day. Beck really showed off some nice footwork in the first half, backing his defender down before making a quick spin toward the baseline and finishing with the off-hand. James attacked the rim aggressively all game long, and finished through contact on several occasions. His energy level and aggression around the basket forced Kalamazoo defenders to foul Beck, where he converted at the charity stripe at a high rate. Oakland is getting a high level athlete with good enough ball skills to play either the three or the four. Grizzly fans should be really excited for what James is going to bring to the court next year. See below for highlights.
