Endless Motor Sports had the privilege of speaking with Tyrese Haliburton, one of the fastest rising guards in the 2018 class. The Oshkosh North (WI) standout speaks on the high school season, improvements to his game and where he’s at with the recruiting process.

     I. High School Season

EM: How are things going for Oshkosh North so far from a team and individual standpoint?

TH: We finished the regular season with an undefeated record, the best record in school history! We’re currently ranked top 5 in the Midwest so from a team standpoint its going great. Individually, I like the way I’m playing. I’m facilitating the ball really well, and getting to the rim when I need to. I’d like to shoot the ball better from the 3, but I feel like I’m playing good defense, rebounding well, facilitating, and scoring well.

     II. Off-Season Improvements

EM: What areas of your game did you work on over the summer and fall to improve?

TH:  Ballhandling and getting stronger, that’s something I’ll always have to work on to succeed at the next level.

     III. Recruiting

EM: You really turned some heads last summer on the AAU circuit and college coaches took notice – what offers do you currently hold?

TH: IUPUI, Drake, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Northern Iowa, Ohio, Northern Illinois, and Toledo

EM: Which schools are showing interest that haven’t yet offered?

TH: Princeton, Illinois State, Bradley, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Nebraska, Florida State, Minnesota, Iowa State, Loyola, UC-Davis, Tulane

EM: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest/do you hear from the most?

TH: Northern Iowa, Ohio, and Milwaukee

EM: Any visits line up?

TH: I currently have no visits line up, just focusing on trying to get a state title and then me and my family plan to talk about visits.

     IV. Goals

EM: What are your goals heading into the spring and summer?

TH: My goal this year would probably be to perform to my ability, and the rest will take care of itself. I just want to continue to improve my game in all aspects and become more of a household name throughout the country.
