2020 guard Steve Pearson (Detroit Northwestern) has been dominant so far in the Detroit Public School League (PSL) Playoffs. The 6’2 freshman has shown ability well beyond his years and has played a huge role in the Colts run to the PSL quarterfinals.
In a road matchup against Cody, Pearson displayed range out to 25 feet by knocking down triples off the dribble on multiple occasions. Steve finished with 30 points for the game and answered a Cody run every time the Comets threatened to take the lead in a tight game. In a thrilling win against Osborn, Pearson displayed really nice ballhandling, as he was able to beat his defender off the dribble in isolation situations and in transition. He finished with 16 points for the game and knocked down the game tying free throw after an offensive rebound that would eventually lead to a Northwestern victory. See highlights below
