2019 point guard Julian Dozier (U of D) is off to a fast start in his first year as the starting floor general for the defending state champions. The Cubs are not missing a beat with the 5’10 Dozier taking over for Cassius Winston (MSU), as Julian has been filling up the scoreboard and creating easy baskets for teammates. Dozier recently received full-ride scholarship offers to Eastern Michigan and Southern Mississippi, and other schools are sure to follow suit given his recent play.
Julian displayed great change of direction dribbles that allowed him to create space for easy looks at the basket against Beecher. With his lightning quick first step, he’s extremely difficult to check on the perimeter. Dozier also showed his shooting prowess by knocking down a pair of catch and shoot 3s, one from NBA range. Not just a scorer, Dozier has great court vision and consistently hits open teammates for easy looks at the basket off pick and roll sets and in transition. See highlights below:
