Steve Pearson (Detroit Northwestern) started off his high school career with a bang against Renaissance High School on December 13th.  The 6’2 guard was absolutely electric and exceeded all the recent hype heading into the season.

Pearson finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in helping lead Northwestern to a 71-48 victory in their season opener. It was evident from the first quarter that Steve was simply on another level from most freshman in the country, let alone the state. Pearson scored from all 3 levels, knocking down several midrange jumpshots off the dribble, showing excellent court vision with a few no-look dimes both transition and the half-court, buried a three off the dribble, and displayed his highlight reel athleticism on several occasions. See below for highlights.
