Endless Motor Sports had the privilege of speaking with 2018 point guard David DeJulius (EEVP/The Family) fresh off his unofficial visit and academic tour to Michigan State University. David recaps the visit mechanics, the fit at MSU, and how he rates the visit. David is coming off an excellent summer on the EYBL circuit that resulted in offers from DePaul, Oakland University, and U of D.

EM: Can you walk us through the visit mechanics?

DD: I arrived around 9am, where the video coordinator showed me highlights. From there we went to Coach Izzo’s office where all the coaches were waiting for me. After that they showed my Dad and I the gym, then we took the academic tour. Then I met the nutrition coach and toured the recovery room before my Dad bought something to eat for us at the café, which was amazing. We watched Cassius Winston workout for a bit before wrapping the visit up with a nice conversation with the entire coaching staff.

EM: Can you talk a bit about the academic tour and what that involved?

DD: It was great. They showed me the area where the tutors are. They have a paper review team that allows you to edit your paper in-depth. Coach Izzo is big on getting to class on time. If you’re late he is notified.

EM: What was the basketball presentation like?

DD: They told me that I fit the program with my toughness and commended me on how great of a person that I was, and that’s the type of guy they want. Told me I’m a strong guard that has game.

EM: What would you rate the visit from 1-10? Any plans to visit again in the Fall/Winter for a football or basketball game?

DD: I’d rate it a 10 and I plan on visiting for a few football games.
