Jamal Bieniemy is an elite student-athlete currently attending Obra D. Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. Currently a member of  The Texas Boys Athletic Club, Jamal is quickly ascending on to the national scene with his versatility shown during summer play and many high-major programs are taking notice. The 6’4 combo-guard marks multiple checkboxes college coaches are seeking with his ability to knock down perimeter shots off the catch or pull-up, while possessing the athletic ability to change directions on a dime to get into the lane, vision to find the open man, and length to wreak havoc defensively.


EM: Congrats on the great spring/summer, you turned some heads with your ability. Can you tell us about how things are going for Texas Boys Athletic Club as a team and for you individually?

JB: Thank you. Everything is going well for us as a team. We finished July on a good note. We competed with the best teams in the country. Individually, I feel I competed well and produced for my team.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

JB: I am a drive and kick player. I can play multiple positions. I can lead and love to get after it on defense. 

EM: How often do you work on your game?

JB: I work on my game every chance I get. I like to take advantage of every time I’m in the gym to get better.



EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

JB: My favorite subject is Social Studies.

EM: What do you plan to major in when attending college?

JB: In college I plan on majoring in the business field.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

JB: Off the court, I listen to a lot of music.My favorite rapper right now is Travis Scott. On my down time, I play 2k and Madden on PS4 with my friends.




EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered?

JB: University of Houston, Texas A&M, Tulsa, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Houston Baptist.

EM: Which schools show interest that haven’t yet offered?

JB: Florida, UCLA, Michigan, Creighton, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma St.

EM: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?

JB: Ucla, UofH, Tulsa, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma St.

EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future?

JB: I have nothing set up right now.

EM: Can you tell us a little about the Michigan interest? Which coaches have you talked with?

JB: I talk to Coach Meyer. He visited my school last year and we have built a good relationship.

EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making your college decision?

JB: The education is big with my family, I want to go to a school where the playing style fits me, and where I can develop into the best person and player.




EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

JB: My biggest goal right now is to win the state championship this year with my brothers.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

JB: Work hard at everything you do. Also, don’t worry about what other people are doing and stay on your grind. Last, surround yourself with the right crowd.
