Romeo Weems is an elite student-athlete currently attending New Haven High School in metropolitan Detroit. The 6’6 wing is one of the most highly touted prospects in the entire country, currently ranked a 5star and the #13 player for the class of 2019. Just finishing up his freshman campaign, Romeo has already made a statement on the national scene, as high major colleges want to make an early impression on the tremendously skilled wing with the versatility to handle the ball on the perimeter and create easy looks for himself and teammates, knock down perimeter jumpshots, score with his back to the basket, all while having the size, strength and athleticism to attack the glass and be a great defender.

EM: Congratulations on the great spring/summer, can you tell us how things went for The Family as a team and for you individually?

RW: As a team, it wasn’t the best year. We didn’t win that many games but I think I’ve been doing good individually so far.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

RW: An aggressive SF that can rebound, defend, and play hard. I can dribble a little, shoot a little, and I’m competitive.

EM: How often do you work on your game?

RW: Every day when I’m not traveling with my team.

EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

RW: My favorite subject is Math.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

RW:  Off the court I hang out with friends and we either play 2k or go to the court at the park.

EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools show interest?

RW: Michigan, Michigan State, Xavier, and Ohio State.

EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future?

RW: I got the Michigan camp and a Michigan State visit coming up.

EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

RW: For high school basketball a goal is to win States this year. And for football I want to make it to the playoffs this year.
