Anfernee Simons is an elite student-athlete currently attending Montverde Academy in metropolitan Orlando. Anfernee is one of the most sought after perimeter players in the country, currently ranked #43 overall in the class of 2018 per Scout. The 6’3 combo-guard has absolutely blown up this Spring on the Under Armour circuit, where he leads the 16u division in scoring at 22.9 points per game while shooting an outstanding 43.3% from three. College programs from across the country have no doubt taken notice, and the offers have come in abundance, as college coaches covet the elite shooter with a great handle, and outstanding athleticism.

EM: Congrats on the great Spring, you turned some heads with your ability. Can you tell us how things are going for Team Breakdown and for you individually?

AS: We have been doing good in the UA league so far, especially in the last session we went 3-1 to earn a spot in the Finals . I’ve been playing really good this spring showing everything I can do, defense, offense. Just showing my overall game

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

AS: My game is somebody that can score in different ways. My greatest attribute is to shoot the ball, I can shoot the ball anywhere on the court. I can handle the ball and I can attack the basket using my athleticism. So I’m basically like Steph Curry with athleticism.

EM: How often do you work on your game?

AS: Every day I do something to get better, no matter if it’s just dribbling the ball outside. A day without basketball isn’t a day at all.

EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

AS: My favorite subject is History.

EM: What do you plan to major in when attending college?

AS: I plan to major in Sports Management.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

AS: I like to listen to music and I like buying and collecting shoes.

EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered?

AS: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Oklahoma State, USF, UCF, FGCU, Tennessee Tech, and Florida.

EM: Which schools show interest that haven’t yet offered?

AS: Virginia, Tennessee, Murray State

EM: Which schools do you hear from the most?

AS: Louisville , Florida , USF , and UCF are the schools that show the most interest.

EM: Do you have a top group of schools that you’re focused on at this point?

AS: Nope, my options are open right now.

EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making your college decision?

AS: Loyalty and trust.

EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

AS: Become the best player and student I can be.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

AS: Hard work gets you anywhere you want in life. If you work hard you will reach your goals.
