Endless Motor Sports had the privilege of speaking with 2018 4 star Robby Carmody (Ohio Basketball Club/Mars, PA) fresh off his unofficial visit and academic tour to the University of Michigan. Robby recaps the visit mechanics, the role UM envisions him in, and potential plans for a return visit. Head coach John Beilein and UM have heavy interest in the 6’4 Wing, who seems to be a perfect fit for UM with his ability to shoot the ball, makes plays off the dribble, while bringing all out intensity on defense.

EM: Can you walk us through the visit mechanics?

RC: We arrived at campus around 12, toured the facilities and I met some of the players. Then we went to the football stadium and went to lunch right after that. We then went through the academic tour and met with all the coaches at the end of the visit.

EM: Can you talk a bit about the academic tour and what that involved?

RC: We went around campus and into the Business School, and I had the chance to speak with an academic advisor.

EM: What was the basketball presentation like in terms of the position/role that Coach Beilein and staff want you to take on?

RC: They see me as a ballhandling 2 guard that can initiate the offense.

EM: Is that a role you’d like and that you’re comfortable in?

RC: Yeah, I’m getting a lot better with the ball and feel like that would fit me very well.

EM: Did Coach Beilein/staff give any indication of when an offer might come?

RC: Nothing in particular, they’d like to see me play live first.

EM: Did the visit exceed expectations? Any plans to visit again in the fall/winter, perhaps a football or basketball game?

RC: Definitely coming back for another visit, and it exceeded my expectations.

Stay tuned to Endless Motor Sports in the coming weeks and months for complete coverage of the Robby Carmody recruitment.
