Ronaldo Segu is an elite student-athlete currently attending Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida. Ronaldo is one of the best high school perimeter players in the south, currently ranked the #32 point guard for the class of 2018 per ESPN. The 6’0 floor general is a hot commodity for college coaches seeking a point guard that can penetrate a defense with a tight handle, create easy buckets for bigs with great court vision,  and knock down perimeter jumpers off the bounce or the catch.

EM: Congrats on the great spring so far, you’ve turned some heads with your ability. Can you tell us about how things are going for Showtime as a team and for you individually?

RS: Things are going very well. For Showtime it was our first year on the Under Armour circuit and it was a great experience. As for me, its been going well also. I’ve been shooting better, getting bigger and taking the roll of being a true PG, and not letting people outwork me.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

RS: My game is really quick and efficient. Really good with handling the ball, but I can also shoot it very well and get my teammates open looks. I’m a pass first PG.

EM: How often do you work on your game?

RS: I work on my game every day, I won’t be outworked.

EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

RS: My favorite subject is English.

EM: What do you plan to major in when attending college?

RS: I’m interested in owning my own business, so I plan on majoring in Business in college.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

RS: Off the court I like to be with family and friends, and I love shoes.

EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered?

RS: VCU, Florida State, UCF, UAB, Florida International

EM: Which schools show interest that haven’t yet offered?

RS: Florida, George Washington, Indiana, Texas, Murray State, Denver, Louisiana Tech

EM: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?

RS: Florida State, UAB, Murray State, Florida, VCU

EM: Do you have a top group of schools that you’re focused on at this point?

RS: No I don’t.

EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future?

RS: Visits to Louisville and Murray State coming up, heading to a camp this weekend.

EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making the college decision?

RS: Just seeing what school fits best and talks to me and my family a lot.

EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

RS: My goals are to be the best PG I can be, and add more strength.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

RS: Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. If you want something, go get it and work hard, and it will pay off at the end.
