Hamm

Royce Hamm is an elite student-athlete currently attending Aldine Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Royce is one of the most sought after high school prospects in the country, currently ranked the #83 player in the country for the class of 2017 per ESPN. The 6’8 forward is a priority for college coaches seeking a versatile player with the skill set to stretch defenses with a pure stroke from deep, while having the size, length, and athleticism to finish at the rim and block shots on the defensive end.

     I.  AAU & SELF ANALYSIS

EM: Congrats on the move to Pro Skills. Can you tell us how things are going for the team and for you individually?

RH: I feel that joining Pro Skills was a hard decision for me, but it helped me showcase my game more and gave me a little more exposure. The team is great, everyone is positive and cares about the team, not just all about themselves as individuals.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

RH: I am a stretch 4, pick and pop or pick and roll type guy. I can catch the ball elbow extended and make a move and get to the basket, and I shoot the ball very good as well.

EM: How often do you work on your game?

RH: Every day I get in the gym and shoot and also work on ballhandling. If I can’t get in the gym, I’ll grab my ball and go outside my house and work on ballhandling.

     II. ACADEMICS AND OFF-COURT INTERESTS

EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

RH: Me and my family are real big on academics. I don’t really have a favorite subject in particular, I just go to school and focus on my studies and complete my assignments.

EM: What do you plan to major in when attending college?

RH: I plan on majoring in sports management or kinesiology.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

RH: I’m a big fan of shoes. I love my kicks! I do a lot of other things like hanging with my friends and family because basketball can get a little overwhelming, so I try to do other things as well.

EM: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?

     IV. PERSONAL GOALS & ADVICE

EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

RH: I want to work to become a top 30 player in the country and give myself a chance to be a McDonald’s All American.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

RH: Just work hard and embrace the process. Always be positive and on top of your game, you never know who’s watching you.
