Jayvon Graves is an elite student-athlete currently attending St. Vincent- St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Currently a player on the King James AAU squad in the EYBL circuit, Graves forms one of the most dynamic and explosive backcourts with teammate Markell Johnson as they, along with Kyle Young, hope to make noise at the Nike Peach Jam. Jayvon is underrated yet made a statement this past weekend in Atlanta with a 28 point outburst against top-ranked AAU squad Team CP3. The 6’3 guard possesses the strength and first step to create separation from defenders with the verticality to finish at the rim, all while being a solid distributor who is rapidly developing a reliable shot beyond the arc.
I. AAU & SELF ANALYSIS
EM: You’re running with King James on the EYBL circuit, can you tell us how things are going for the team and you individually?
JG: Things are going good, we are an automatic bid to the Peach Jam. I individually had my best game this past weekend versus Team CP3 so I’ve been playing well.
EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar? What parts of your game do you work on the most?
JG: I am a player that likes to create for others and make smart basketball plays, but I believe I can score at most times, so I like making players around me better. I am improving on my point guard skills day by day so I can play that position in college.
EM: Do you study or pattern your game after any college or pro players?
JG: I study a lot of CJ McCollum and Russell Westbrook.
EM: What motivates you on the hardwood?
JG: Playing against competitive players and showing that I belong.
EM: Who’s been an inspiration to you in your basketball career?
JG: My mom is my biggest inspiration.

IV. PERSONAL GOALS & ADVICE
EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?
