Jordan Goodwin is an elite student-athlete currently attending Althoff Catholic in Belleville, Illinois. After leading Althoff Catholic to its first state 3A title, Goodwin carries his aau team, the St. Louis Eagles (8-3), to near the top of the EYBL where he averages a Herculean 17 ppg on 41 FG%, 10.2 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 1.6 spg en route to Peach Jam. Currently ranked #65 for the class of 2017 per Rivals, Jordan has solidified himself on the national scene by using his unique blend of relentless motor, bull strength, exceptional finishing, and ball skills.


EM: Can we talk about your St. Louis Eagles club, how did it go at Boo Williams? Are you excited to play on the national scene?

JG: We went 3-1, including a tough loss to the PSA Cardinals, but I think that we are getting better as a team. I am excited to show the world what I got.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar? What parts of your game do you work on the most?

JG: I can play any position but I am a big guard that can defend every position. I work on my ball handling and shooting the most. 

EM: Do you study or pattern your game after any college or pro players?

JG: I feel like I play like LeBron.

EM: What motivates you on the hardwood?

JG: I hate losing. I want to win every time I’m on the court.

EM: Who’s been an inspiration to you in your basketball career?

JG: My dad and my brother are my biggest inspirations.


EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

JG: My favorite subject is English.

EM: What music/songs do you listen to before a game?

JG: I listen to Slime Season 3 and Lil Uzi Vert Vs The World.

EM: Favorite NBA team and player?

JG: The Lakers and Kobe. 


EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered you?

JG: Illinois, Missouri, TCU, Michigan State, Illinois State, Purdue, Texas, Texas A&M, Northwestern, St Louis, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Pittsburg, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Connecticut, and Creighton. 

EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future?

JG: I’m looking at dates I have open now.

EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making your college decision?

JG: I’m going to a college where I have the opportunity to start and play. 


EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

JG: I have to make it to the NBA.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

JG: Make the right choices and play hard every game you step out on the court.
