EM: Congrats on the great Spring on the AAU circuit, you’ve been tremendous thus far. Can you tell us how things are going for CIA Bounce as a team and for you individually?

SS: Things are going well, we got off to a rough start in New York going 1-3, but we seemed to have come together and now we are starting to play hard as a unit. Individually, I’m doing well, I’m showing coaches that I’m an all around player and that I can make a significant impact on both ends. I still think I can play a lot better though.

EM: Can you describe your game for those that are not familiar?

SS: I like to get my teammates involved and be a playmaker. I can score inside and outside. I prefer facing up on the perimeter or mid-post area. I’m a good rebounder, and I have a good handle at my size, which I plan to get even better. I can guard positions 2-5 and I play hard and play to win.

EM: How often do you work on your game?

SS: 4-5 times per week.

EM: Can we talk a bit about your interests as a student, what is your favorite subject?

SS: Chemistry or just sciences in general.

EM: What do you plan to major in when attending college?

SS: I think I’m going to major in chemistry or possibly finance.

EM: What are your interests off the court?

SS: Going to the movies or hanging out with my friends, usually.

EM: Shifting a bit to recruiting, can you tell us which schools have offered you?

SS: Marquette, Syracuse, UConn, Texas, Baylor, Illinois, Alabama, DePaul

EM: Which schools show interest that haven’t yet offered:

SS: Kentucky, Duke, Washington, Iowa State, Indiana, Miami, Oregon, Wake Forest, Tennessee, UNLV

EM: Any visits or team camps lined up in the near future?

SS: I’ll be attending the NBA Top 100 Camp, no visits scheduled as of right now.

EM: What factors are important to you and your family when making your college decision?

SS: Best fit where I can develop and possibly make the NBA after one year.

EM: Any personal goals on or off the court?

SS: Become an All-American and finish as a top 5 player in my class. Make enough money to provide for my family, and just be the best basketball player I can possibly be.

EM: Last, if you could give the youth some advice on how to succeed either on or off the court, what would you say?

SS: Work hard at what you do, it’s not going to be easy to get where you want to be.
